Wales World Cup qualifiers Squad Announcement

Wales have announced their squad for their final World Cup qualifiers, against Greece and Slovenia. Jess Fishlock and Charlie Estcourt return to the squad. Recent call-ups Chloe Bull and Poppy Soper miss out, with Safia Middleton-Patel selected as the third goalkeeper.

Manager Gemma Grainger hopes to make tournament history by taking Wales Women to the World Cup for the first time. Wales Men have, of course, qualified for the men's World Cup for the second time, more than sixty years after their first appearance.

Angharad James is likely to join Jess Fishlock, Loren Dykes (now retired), Sophie Ingle, Natasha Harding and Helen Ward on the list of Wales centurions. Chris Gunter, Gareth Bale and Wayne Hennessey have reached this milestone for the men.

Meanwhile, Rhiannon Roberts could win her 50th cap.

Wales are working with rap artist Juice Menace, who has released a single called For Her. The song will hopefully inspire more girls and women to play football. For Her can be found on all major streaming platforms.

If you're travelling to see Wales in Greece, you might find this article helpful.
