Bridgwater United 0-2 Watford
Helen Ward opened the scoring for Watford as they took a 7th-minute lead against Bridgwater United, The scores could have been level after Bridgwater's Georgia Evans unleashed a strike on goal, but the crossbar came to Watford's rescue. The ball then rebounded off keeper Georgie Ferguson but did not go into the net. Helen came close to a second after getting into a good position, but Poppy Wilson's pass didn't quite reach her.
Bridgwater continued to have chances, but Watford defended well and in second-half stoppage time, they finally got their winning goal to seal the points.
Annie Rossiter kept her starting place for Watford after making her debut the previous week. She and Helen were both substituted as Watford used all their available substitutes.
\Watford Head Coach Damon Lathrope was very happy with Watford's performance against a team who only conceded seven at home in the whole of last season, and singled out Helen for particular praise.
