News 7/10/22 (Fishlock, Grainger, Wiltshire)

Jess Fishlock relives her dream goal, but Gemma Grainger is already looking forward to the next match.

Plaid Cymru believes the Wales football team should be known as Cymru rather than Wales. FA Wales are already referring to their teams as Cymru, but for the most part, they are known as Wales - including by the Plaid Cymru representative who is quoted in this article. I call them Wales when I'm speaking English and Cymru when I'm (badly) speaking Welsh and I love them the same whatever I call them, but preferred names do matter. Of course, the name of our national football team isn't something to be chosen by politicians, but FAW's (FAC's?) preferences should mean something.

Cymru Women Football Blog? I'm thinking about it.

Sarah Wiltshire has been nominated for Cambridge United's Goal of the Month competition. Sarah is the only representative from the women's team - there are two from the men's senior team and one from the under-11s.
