Lyon 2-2 Chelsea (penalties 4-3) (Women’s International Champions Cup, friendly)
Sophie Ingle was a 59th-minute substitute for Chelsea in their Women’s International Champions Cup opening match. Chelsea started well and were 2-0 up when Sophie entered the field of play, but Lyon got one back through an excellent free kick, before scoring a late equaliser.
Paris Saint-German 0-1 Manchester United (Amos Women’s French Cup, friendly)
Manchester United reached the final of the Amos Women’s French Cup, which is held yearly and features four of the top European teams. PSG looked the stronger team in the first half and early in the second half, but Manchester United held firm and, with the introduction of two substitutes just after the hour mark, Manchester United took control. Safia Middleton-Patel, Hayley Ladd and Chloe Williams (dual registered with Blackburn Rovers but with her parent club for this game) were all unused substitutes.
