Forest Green Rovers 0-1 Cardiff City (friendly)
Phoebie Poole scored four goals in just 28 minutes as
Cardiff City absolutely thrashed Forest Green Rovers. It was just 2-0 at the
break, after Danielle Green had forced an own goal and Danielle
Broadhurst scored a brilliant goal from long distance.
Phoebie was introduced at half-time and did not take long to make her presence felt, scoring on 51 and 57 minutes. She completed her hat-trick on 65 minutes from close range. Ffion Price, one of the few players to complete 90 minutes, was next on the scoresheet, but Phoebie hadn’t finished (or rather, she finished extremely well, yet again), scoring in the 74th minute. Eliza Collie (I’m not sure if she’s Welsh or not, but judging from this performance, I’d like her to be) returned to the field following a half-time substitution and was next to score. Zoe Atkins scored two great goals in quick succession before Eliza wrapped things up in the final minute. Megan Saunders, Seren Watkins and Michaela Major came close to making things even worse for Forest Green.
New signings Emily Roberts and Megan Bowen both started the match, while Rhianne Oakley was a 62nd-minute substitute. Hannah Power played 90 minutes, while Ceryn Chamberlain, Siobhan Walsh, Hollie Smith, Sophie Norman and Lily Billingham also featured.
