News 13/08/22 (Cain, Clark, Jenkins, F Morgan, Powe, Rees, Skinner)

Hannah Cain is looking forward to returning to action for Leicester City after almost a year on the sidelines. The forward injured her anterior cruciate ligament in November 2021. Hannah recently returned to the training pitch after a ‘minor blip’ and hopes to be ready for the start of the new season. Hannah also speaks about meeting fans at Leicester’s summer camps and England’s game-changing World Cup win.

Caerphilly Dragons Girls FC were delighted to receive a visit from Ffion Morgan and Olivia Clark after the club sold 150 tickets to Wales’ qualifier against Slovenia. Chairman James Law described the internationals as ‘amazing’ after they took the time to sign autographs and pose for selfies. In just three years, Caerphilly Dragons have grown from a father-daughter kickabout in the park to a club with over 200 members.

Wales internationals Alicia Powe, Claire Skinner, Shaunna Jenkins and Nia Rees are just some of the players included in Swansea City’s Champions League squad this season. Chloe Chivers, who was Swansea’s top scorer last season, is omitted due to a knee injury. Alicia (who has spent sixteen years at the club and is their captain but apparently isn’t their longest-serving player) is really looking forward to playing in the Champions League.
