Women's Championship Previews Part 2 (played 18/9/22) (Bull, B Davies, Clark, Cleverly, Dudley-Jones, Gane, Longhurst, E Morgan, F Morgan, Powell, Walters)

Lewes v London City Lionesses

Kick-off: 2pm, The Dripping Pan

Lewes are unbeaten in their first two games (or winless if your cup is half-empty) following draws with Birmingham City and Southampton. London City picked up their first points in a 3-4 away thriller against Charlton Athletic. Lewes now welcome the Lionesses to the Dripping Pan. Lewes were the winners the last time they hosted the Lionesses.

Rhian Cleverly and Josie Longhurst are likely to be part of the squad for Lewes. Manager Scott Booth is excited about the potential of new signing Zoe Smith, but there's no word on whether she's ready to be involved tomorrow.

Sheffield United v Coventry United

Kick off: 2pm, Bramall Lane

Coventry United are bottom of the Women's Championship after losing both their opening games, but it's very early days. Sheffield United only got their first points of the season last week so it's too early to get dramatic, even for me.

Bethan Davies could keep her place in goal after for Sheffield United some excellent displays this season. Georgia Walters is probably more likely to be on the bench.

Esther Morgan could make her Coventry debut after signing on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. Evie Gane and Meesha Dudley-Jones have both been starting for Coventry.

Bristol City v Sunderland

Kick-off: 3pm, Robins High Performance Centre

Bristol City are joint-top of the table, having won both their opening games. Sunderland, who have had a bit of COVID during the last week, are searching for their first win.

Ella Powell, who looked dangerous for Bristol City when she came into the starting line-up against Blackburn Rovers in the previous game, has been named in the matchday squadFfion Morgan is also in the squad and could also be involved; Olivia Clark and Chloe Bull have so far been unused substitutes. 16 year old Tianna Teisar already looks like a very good player and is also in the squad for the weekend.
