Women's National League Fixtures 21/08/22

Women’s National League North

AFC Fylde Women v Brighouse Town Women (2pm)

Emily Hollinshead has been scoring goals in pre-season for AFC Fylde and seems likely to be involved. Olivia Fuller is also a Fylde player.

Liverpool Feds WFC v Wolverhampton Wanderers Women (2pm)

Lowri Walker didn’t feature in Wolves’ recent friendly against Ipswich Town, but she still seems to be at the club.

Women’s National League South

Cheltenham Town v Plymouth Argyle (2pm)

Goalkeeper Aimee Watson and midfielder Amy Wathan are both part of the team for newly-promoted Cheltenham. Plymouth seem to have no Welsh representatives since goalkeeper Poppy Soper signed for Charlton Athletic.

Ipswich Town v Portsmouth (2pm)

Three Welsh players are named on Portsmouth’s website, but only Emma Jones is still at the club according to Wikipedia, which was updated this month. Portsmouth will certainly be without Evie Gane, who has moved to Coventry United.

Oxford United v Bridgewater United (2pm)

Lily Stevens has been retained by Oxford United and is part of the first team squad. Georgia Evans is part of Bridgewater’s team and it’s possible Ffion Llewellyn is too. She appeared to post a goodbye message on Instagram before following it up with the news that she wasn’t leaving so I’m just going to wait and see what happens. (I don’t usually post news directly from Instagram. This isn’t… Rebekah Vardy’s account.)

Watford v Gillingham (2pm)

Watford have made a number of new signings this season and Scarlett Williams, signed on a dual registration with Tottenham Hotspur, is just one player who could make her debut. Morgan Rogers could play her first match as an official Watford player, after last season’s dual registration with Tottenham Hotspur. Annie Rossiter is another new signing who could make her debut. Wales legend Helen Ward seems very likely to be part of the squad.
