News 16/9/22 (Cain, Gemma Evans, J Green, K Green, Harding, Holland, Ingle, James, Carrie Jones, Ellen Jones, Ladd, R Roberts, Rowe, Woodham)

If Wales progress to the second World Cup play-off, they will face Switzerland in Zurich at Stadion Letzigrund. If the match happens, it will be broadcast on BBC Wales at 6pm.

Tickets for the first play-off, against Bosnia-Herzegovina at the Cardiff City Stadium, are available here. Another record crowd is a possibility!

Watch Wales reach the World Cup play-offs on FC Cymru.

The Women's Super League begins tonight when Arsenal host Kayleigh Green's Brighton & Hove Albion. The Women's Championship resumes on Sunday.

Many of the matches can be watched live on BBC2, BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website, the FA Player or Sky Sports. The BBC will show one fixture per week and Sky Sports will show two every weekend, though I only have details about one.

Natasha Harding's Aston Villa host Manchester City on BBC2 at 12.30pm on Sunday.

Sky Sports will be screening Liverpool v Chelsea at 5pm on Sunday. Ceri Holland and Rhiannon Roberts both represent the home side, while Sophie Ingle plays for the League Champions.

Arsenal's match against Tottenham Hotspur, who recently signed Wales' youngest centurion, Angharad James, is set to break WSL attendance records. The match will take place on September 24th at 1.30pm.

In the meantime, Hayley Ladd's Manchester United could break their own attendance record tomorrow (Saturday 17th September) when they host a Reading team which is likely to feature Gemma Evans, Lily Woodham and Rachel Rowe. Reading have five times as many season ticket holders as last season.

The Sportsman predicts the final outcome of the league this season. Natasha Harding is expected to improve Aston Villa, who are predicted to finish 8th. No other Welsh players are mentioned by name, but Sportsman expects another league triumph for Sophie Ingle and Chelsea.

The news isn't quite so good for Leicester City, who will need new signings Josie Green and Ellen Jones and loanee Carrie Jones to be on top form. Hannah Cain is on her way back from injury and she too could be 'like a new signing' if clichés are anything to go by. (And let's not forget what happened when Leicester's male counterparts were predicted to go down.)
